Non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocker

Mechanism of Action:
Cholinergic R-antagonist ⇒ competes with ACh at neuromuscular junction and prevents binding so neuromuscular transmission is inhibited

Pharmacokinetics
- Onset of Action 30 – 60 seconds
- Peak Effects = 1-3 minutes
- Duration of Effect = 30-60 minutes
- Half-Life = 14-18 minutes

Indications & Contraindications
Indications/Field Use:
• Need for temporary paralysis to facilitate endotracheal intubation and muscle tone or seizure activity prevent it
Contraindications:
• Hypersensitivity

Side Effects/Adverse Reactions:
Bronchospasm (rarely)

Adult & Pedi Dose:
(ADULT): 0.6-1.2mg/kg IVP (IO)
(PEDI): 0.6mg/kg

Precautions:
Should be performed by skilled provider only, have rescue airway devices available and resuscitative equipment standing by

Drug-Drug Interactions:
