Quantitive Investigatopn Flashcards
What is the difference between interspecific and intra specific
Interspecific is when species differ from each other and intra specific is when organism differ from each other in the same species
What is random sampling
Taking measurement from the individuals or the organisms which is being investigated and is representative of the sample
What is sampling bias
The investigator choice When the area which has been selected may be deliberately or unwired so the choices may be unrepresentative
What is chance
If the sample that has been chosen by chance may not be representative as they may all be very similar by chance
How to remove sampling bias
Divide the study are and map the area on a graph and use a number generator to randomly generate coordinates which is where the sample is being taken at
How to further decrease sampling bias
Use a large sample as have large amount of data so any effects of anomalous effect the ffect will be very minimal and lead to more valid findings
Use statistical testing or data analysis to see off the results are due to chance or significant
