Courtship Behaviour Flashcards
What helps species distinguish each other
They have different genetic and bichemical as well as behaviour which species can recognise others by the behaviour as animals have different behaviours due to revolution and same species have similar behaviour
Why is reproduction useful
It allows the dna to be passed on to the next generation to make sure successful allele are passed on females are only receptive at a certain time so it need to make sure mating is succeful
How does courtship behaviour enables successful mating
It allows recognising own species so can reproduce and produce fertile off spring
It allows formation of a pair bond so that they can form a supportive parent network for the offspring to be brought up
It allows the male to know whether a female is mature to produce offsprings
It allows the maximum probability that sperm comes into contact with the egg so produce off spring
It allows the male to bring about physical arousal in the female so that mating can occur
How is it determined whether animals will mate
The male will produce chemical signals such as phenoms as well as behaviour of the female responds mating is continued however of the female fails to respond the male moves on to a another female the chain communication is known throughout he species
