Add food sample if not liquid grind up with water add equal amount of Benedicts reagent heat mixture gently
Turn from blue to orange brown colour

A

Sugar can donate electrons to another chemical such as the benedicts which contain copper sulfate which gains an electron and forms red precipitate of copper oxide
