Rx may be renewed
eg) depressants, tylenol
scehdule IV
Low abuse potenial
have accepted medical usefulness
RX may be renewed ( up to 5 in 6 months)
Eg) xanax
Schedule V
lowest abuse potential
Have accepted medical usefulness
rx may be renewed
eg) cough medicine

applied on the surface of mucosa or skin and absorbed

breathing gaseous substance through the mouth or inhaling through the nose
sublingual route
placed under the tongue ( nitroglycerine)
subcutaneous (sc)
injected directly UNDER the skin
intradermal (ID)
injected into the skin at 10-15 degree angle
intramuscular (IM)
injected into a muscle
intravascular (IV)
injected into a vein/blood stream
