socialisation during earlier years of childhood
takes place within immediate family e.g mum, dad
person learns the values within themselves-internalisation
family may have shared involvement in activity or one or momre mebers devote themselves to a regular involvement
secondary socialistion
occurs during later years
family are less involved
biggest infleunce becomes freinds, school, coaches
gender socialsiation
involves the learning of behaviour considered appropraite for that given sex
e.g boys learn to be boys
girls learn to be girls
social control
barriers to participation in sport
