Q

Particle microdermabrasion def

A

Material (crystals or other abrasives) is sprayed across the skin while a vacuum removes dead cells and the inert material into a closed canister on the device

Q

Non-particle microdermabrasion def

A

Uses an abrasive tip attached to a vacuum; as the tip is moved across the skin, dead cells are vacuumed up and caught by filter

Q

Crystal device description and benefits

A

Particle microdermabrasion

Benefits skin by using aluminum oxide (an inert crystalline material that is water-insoluble) to exfoliate the skins surface

Q

Diamond tip description and benefits

A

Uses same vacuum technology but has no crystals through the system

Benefits skin by interchanging different hand pieces with various diamond-grit types

Q

Hydradermabrasion device description and benefits

A

Uses a tip made of diamonds, metal blades, or plastic blades

Benefits skin by exfoliating while infusing skin with water and serums at the same time; water or saline is sprayed on skin at high pressure to remove dead cells along with an exfoliating tip, while a serum or other active product is infused

Q

Microdermabrasion zone 4 passes

A

Start on center of brow
1st pass: reduce vacuum level, long stroke down center of nose
Short strokes from side of nose to bridge moving toward lips; repeat on other side
Short strokes from middle of upper lip to outer part of lip; repeat on other side
2nd pass: repeat same movement

17
Q

Microdermabrasion zone 5 passes

A

Start under lower lip
1st pass: long stroke under lower lip moving across to edge of mouth
2nd pass: long stroke downward from lip to jawline moving across area on both sides

18
Q

Microdermabrasion zone 6 passes

A

Start under jawline
1st pass: long strokes under jawline from ear to ear moving toward upper neck
Use long strokes moving up neck toward jaw; avoid hyoid bone
Long strokes across upper chest, moving upward
*No 2nd pass
