Electrotherapy Flashcards
What does the client/esthe hold with Anaphoresis and who is it beneficial for
Client: positive electrode (anode)
Esthe: negative electrode (cathode)
Benefits oily and acneic skin
What does the client/esthe hold for iontophoresis
Client: negative electrode (cathode)
Esthe: positive electrode (anode)
Contraindications of electrotherapy
Pacemaker/heart problems
Epilepsy
Open wounds
Metal implants
Pregnancy
Uncontrolled diabetes
Mental illness
Desincrustation steps
Use a product that lives on the alkaline side of the pH scale (image-pre extraction imulsion solution or 1 tsp baking soda and 1 cup distilled water)
Use (-) polarity on the facial machine
Dampen an esthetic wipe and wrap it around the inactive electrode (client holds it)
Dampen esthetics cloth mask with water, toner, or Desincrustation solution and place over face
Use electrode over face 4-5 min then perform extractions if needed
Direct high frequency use
Destroys bacteria
Performing indirect high frequency
Massage skin with hands while client is holding the high frequency electrode
Iontophoresis steps
On the positive polarity, use products on the acidic side of the pH scale (hyloronic acid)
Dampen an esthetics wipe and wrap around the inactive electrode (client holds)
Use active electrode on face 4-5min
