At 1FTS, when should the pilot conduct a go around? (12)
A
- When instructed by ATC or DI
- RWY not clear
- Clearance not received by 200ft AGL
- Finals checks not complete by 200ft AGL
- IAS stabilised below threshold speed on base/final
- Mishandled landing (balooning, bounce, drifting, high RoD or POIs)
- Not grounded with >4000ft
- An S turn (ACFT passes gable markers or RWY edge lights by night)
- Pilot not satisfied
- Not aligned by 350ft AGL (400ft by night)
- A traffic collision exists
- Pilot unable to identify traffic

How do you complete a go around from downwind/base?
A
- Turn behind the traffic (if possible)
- Climb to 1000ft, speed above 120KIAS (if req)
3, Flap T/O if possible - Track for dead side (beware initial traffic)
- Once dead side complete after T/O checks
- R/T if possible however maintain ANCA

A
- Apply MAX power
- Wings level, climb attitude (mid mirrors)
- Retract flaps
- After T/O checks
- If traffic go to dead side

- Wings level
