What are the Ejection checks?
- Seat harness - Secured and locked
- PSP - Connected
- Helmet - Visor down, chin strap secure
- Seat Pin - Removed
- Location - Suitable
- Height - Ideally 2000ft AGL
- Airspeed - 150 - 250KIAS
- Trim - 1/3 aileron trim
- Attitude - Wings level, climbing
What are the correct actions in the event of an AMU channel failure?
- Maintain safe height, heading and speed (use the autopilot if in the area)
- AMU 1/2 failure will be seen in the R MFD
- If in the circuit establish on downwind and base into upwind
- Once at upwind get out checklist and follow the checklist
You are in the CIRA and smell/feel smoke or fumes in the cockpit, what are your actions?
- Aviate: Maintain safe height, heading and speed
- Complete boldface actions
- Look for any source of fumes from within the cockpit (If seen turn that system off)
- Complete boldface actions if source not seen or continues
- Monitor for symptoms of hypoxia
- If no symptoms continue checklist items and consider if ejection is the best COA
You are on downwind and notice that on of your LDG Gear indications is red, what are your actions?
- Check safe height, heading, speed and PWR
- Maintain IAS below 180KIAS
- Contact the DI for assistance
- Complete checklist w/ DI
- If three greens cannot be seen, complete a planned ejection
What are your actions in the event of a flap failure within the CIRA?
- Maintain safe height, heading and speed below 180KIAS
- Use RMFD HYD page
- Go around from base/finals
- Able to use AP on upwind and downwind
- Once consulted with DI make request 3 mile finals: “Requesting reposition for 3 mile finals”
If flaps up or in T/O position, use flapless landing speeds
What are the ACTUAL actions for an EFATO?
ENG Failure confirmed - NG below 80%
- If on RWY 27, turn R ASAP
Zoom - Maintain T/O attitude
Trim - Pitch for nose up
MAYDAY - If time permits
Eject - Confirm the correct posture
What are the actual actions for aborted T/O?
PCL Idle - Loud noise/attention getter/
Brakes - Smoothly apply
Fault - Confirm/corrective action
Boldface - As required
Stop - Taxiway/RWY as required
You have just made the base R/T and have heard no response, after no response again, what are your actions?
AVIATE
- Check MIC-TEL, Correct radio freq, volume set correctly, correct transmit button, check squelch
- Radio check w/ TWR, Check RMFD ‘Freq’ Page for system status
- If no comms established, squawk 7600, go around onto the dead side, continue to transmit in the blind
- On base/finals, look for green light on the old TWR
If green light not seen:
- Go around from base/finals, wait for green light, rock wings on dead side
You are watching the start and the ITT rapidly approaches 750ºC, what are your actions?
- PCL - Fuel Off
- Complete an engine dry run IAW checklist
You are in the CIRA and notice FIRE captions in the MFD and DWP, what are your immediate actions?
- Cancel attention getters, look @ RMFD/DWP
- EO, ACS, PCL Min prac, PMS Man then check for fire (ENG Page)
- Fire unconfirmed (no smoke, oil temp is stable, ITT is stable)
- “PAN PAN (x3), Charlie XXX (x3) , engine fire, intending to land ASAP, please inform of any external signs of fire”
- Maintain safe aviate and navigate
- EMRG Egress once landed
You are on the ground and smell smoke, immediately followed by the attention getters which read ‘FIRE’, what are your actions?
- If taxiing/ take-off, stop the aircraft (R/T if possible)
- ACS, PCL Off, F/HYD Cut, Bats + Gens, Park brake
- EMRG Egress
You are on T/O and your attention getter goes off, what are your actions?
- Abort the T/O
- PCL Idle, brakes and required
- Maintain centre line
- “Charlie XXX, Aborting”
- Diagnose issue, if required carry out boldface
You are in the CIRA when you attention getter sounds and you get an amber “AMU 1 FAIL” in the RMFD, what are your actions?
- Check MIC-TEL, Correct radio freq, volume set correctly, correct transmit button, check squelch
- Radio check w/ TWR
- If no comms established, switch channels to AMU backup, then ORDIE
If no comms still:
- Total comms fail likely, complete EMRG as such
You are in the CIRA and notice a strange smell as a feint smoke begins to enter the canopy, what are your actions?
- E02, ACS, Cabin Pres RAM, Gens 1+2
- Attempt to find the source of the smoke and fumes if within the cockpit
- Check for signs of hypoxia in yourself
- “PAN PAN (x3), Charlie XXX (x3), experienced smoke and fumes, intending to land on next approach”
- Monitor for symptoms of hypoxia
- Land ASAP

- Seat Pin - IN
- Leg Restraints - Release
- Harness - Release
- OXY Mask - Disconnect
- Mic Tel - Disconnect
- PSP - Disconnect
- Canopy Open
