Exam #6_Lab: Scapular Region Flashcards
What is the origin of the deltoid?
1) Scapular spine
2) Acromion
3) Clavicle
What nerve supplies the deltoid?
Axillary n.
What arteries supplies the deltoid?
Posterior circumflex humoral a.
What are the borders of the quadrangular space?
Superior= teres minor Inferior= teres major Medial= long head of triceps brachii Lateral= surgical neck of humerus
What structures pass through the quadrangular space? Where are they going?
1) Axillary n.
2) Posterior circumflex humoral a.
BOTH going to deltoid m.
Where is the supraspinatus?
Superior to the spine of the scapula
Where is the infraspinatus?
Inferior to the scapular spine
Where is the teres minor?
Blends with infraspinatous, inferior to the scapular spine
Where is the teres major?
Inferior to the teres minor
- Origin is the angle of the scapula
- Inserts on the bicepital groove
What is the coracoacromial ligament?
Ligament from the coracoid process of the scapula to the acromion
What is the insertion of the supraspinatous muscle?
Greater tubercle of the humerus
Describe the path of the tendon of the supraspinatous m.
Passes deep to the acromion & coracoacromial ligament to insert on the greater tubercle of the humerus
What nerve supplies the supraspinatous muscle?
Suprascapular n.
What artery supplies the supraspinatous m?
Suprascapular a.
What ligament bridges the suprascapular notch?
Suprascapular ligament
