Atropine

-Mech: Inhibit M2 receptors, prevents parasympathetic actions on the heart
-Indications: Symptomatic brady, pre-med for brady RSI, organophosphate poisoning
-Contra: Tachycardia, hypothermic bradycardia.
-Dosing Adult:
—– Brady - 0.5mg every 3-5 minutes. Max-3mg
—– Organo - 2-5mg repeat as necessary
-Dosing Peds: 0.02mg/kg. may repeat once. Max-0.5mg
Ipratropium
-Trade: Atrovent
-Class: Parasympatholytic
-Mech: inhibits m3, causing bronchiole SMC dilation, dries secretions
-Indic: Asthma, COPD, RAD
-Contra: None
-Dosing Adult: 0.5mg nebulized at 6-8 lpm, every 5 minutes Max: 3 doses
-Dosing Peds: same as adult
Adenosine
-Trade: Adenocard
-Class: Class 5 Anti-Dysrhythmic.
-Mech: Binds with phosphate to prevent ATP formation
-Indic: Stable SVT, Reg or Wide Tachycardia
-Contra: unstable, WPW, irr rhythms
-Dosing Adult: 6, 12, 12. Max: None
-Dosing Peds: 0.1mg/kg Max: 12mg
Albuterol
-Trade: Proventil, Proair, Ventolin
-Class: Sympathomimmetic
-Mech: B-2 agonist. Causing SMC relax in brochioles
-Indic: Asthma, COPD, RAD
-Contra: Tachydysthymias
-Dosing Adult: 2.5mg in 3mL NS, nebulized Max: none
-Dosing Peds: 2.5mg in 3mL NS, nebulized Max: none
Amiodarone
-Trade: Pacerone, Cordarone
-Class: Potattisium channel blocker. Class 3
-Mech: Blocks potassium channel, prolonging interval.
-Indic: Cardiac arrest. (VF, PVT). Stable WCT
-Contra: Brady, Htn
-Dosing Adult:
—–CA (300mg, 150mg, 150mg) Max: 2.2g
—–WCT 150mg in 100mL over 10minutes
-Dosing Peds:
—–CA (5mg/kg, IVP every 3-5min Max: 3 doses, 450mg)

-Mech: Blocks calcium channels. Various effects for each indication
-Indic: Hypocalcemia, Hyperkalemia, Hypermagnesemia, BB toxicity, CCB toxicity.
-Contra: hypercalcemia, VF, digitalis toxicity
-Dosing Adult: 2g IVP over 5 min Max:2g
-Dosing Peds: 20mg/kg IVP over 5 min Max:2g
Calcium Gluconate

Lidocaine
