What is healthy people 2030?
A society where people can reach their full potential and health and well-being across the lifespan
What are the healthy people 2030 goals for health rate?
- Promotes health lifestyles/ behaviors
-Promote good health for people
-Achieve health equality and eliminate unfairness - Attain lives free of preventable disease, disability, injury and premature death
What is physiology?
Study of body function
What is pathophysiology ?
- Study of bodys response to dysfunction or disease
or
-Study of functional structural changes in body cell, tissue, organ and effects it has on the whole body
-Pathophysiology is the mechanistic study of disease
What is a disease ?
Acute or chronic illness that you were born with or acquire which causes physiological disfunction in one or more body system.
What are aspects apart of the disease process?
-Etiology
-Pathogenesis
-Morphologic changes
-Clinical manifestations
- Diagnosis
-Clinical course
What is etiology?
The cause or causes of a disease
What are etiologic factors?
-Biologic agents
-Physical forces
-Chemical agents
-Nutritional excesses or deficits
What are factors affecting adaptation to stressors?
-Age
-Health status
-Psychosocial resources
-Rapidity with which the need to adapt occurs
- Availability of adaptive responses
-Ability of the body to select the most appropriate responses
What is diagnosis ?
the identification of the nature of an illness or other problem by examination of the symptoms.
What is reliability ?
As youre observing, you get the same results after repeating it
What is validity ?
What an instrument measures and how well it measures
What is sensitivity and specificity ?
How well an observation or test identifies people with or without a disease.
What is predictive value?
When a observation or test results is able to predict the existence of a disease or condition
** Disease frequency
What is a disease case?
It can be an existing case
or
the number of new episodes of a specific illness
**Disease frequency
What is incidence ?
Number of new cases in a population at risk during a specific time
**Disease frequency
What is prevalence?
A measure of a disease that exist in a population.
what is epidemiology?
Analysis of factors that affect the health and illness of populations
What is morbidity?
State of having a specific illness or condition
and describes the effects an illness has on a persons life
What is mortality ?
Number of deaths that occur in a population
What are 3 levels of prevention?
1.) Primary prevention
2.) Secondary prevention
3.)Tertiary prevention
What is primary prevention?
Removing risk factors, so disease does not occur.
What is secondary prevention?
Detecting disease when its still curable
What is tertiary prevention?
Preventing disease from escalating and reducing complications of disease
What is evidence based practice?
Using evidence to make decisions about how to care for different patients
