SSRIs and SNRIs (escitalopram, fluoxetine, paroxetine(paxil and paxil CR), sertraline, duloxetine, Venlafaxine XR.). 1st line, slowly titrate, do not provide immediate relief and take at least 4 weeks.

Sedating antihistamine and should not be used long term.

Alprazolam (Xanax and Xanax ER), Clonazepam (Klonopin), Diazepam (Valium), Lorazepam (Ativan). LOT (Lorazepam, Oxazepam, Temazepam) benzos in elderly and liver impairment. CLAD for anxiety (Clonazepam, Lorazepam, Alprazolam, Diazepam). Un-do anxiety with UN-CLAD.
With opioids can result in sedation, respiratory depression and death, dependance, do not discontinue abruptly, CNS depression, abuse, safety risks in elderly (>65), Pregnancy, somnolence, dizziness, ataxia, C-4, alcohol withdrawal syndrome is lorazepam, diazepam, chlordiazepoxide, Antidote is Flumazenil.
