Concerta, Daytrana patch, Ritalin, Vyvanse, Adderall XR and IR. 2nd line or abuse risk kis strattera. Intuniv and Kapvay are added to stimulants or used alone, also have stuff to help sleep at night.(Clonidine IR, diphenhydramine, Intuniv and Kapvay).
Ritalin, Methylin. Start 5 mg BID.
Concerta- OROS tablet system. Quillichew ER and XR for chewable tablets and suspension. Cotempla XR ODT is ODT.

Focalin. Active isomer of methylphenidate.
Nausea, insomnia, headache, irritability, blurred vision, dry mouth, OROS outer coat dissolves fast and rest is released slowly, ghost tablet in stool, decrease abuse potential. Patch apply 2 hours before desired effect, remove after 9 hours and alternate hips daily.

AAP guidelines do not recommend DEXTROAMPHETAMINE IR in children younger than 5. Dextroamphetamine/Amphetamine IR is Adderall. ER is Adderall XR and Mydayis.
Capsule, Chewable tablet. Lisdexamfetamine (prodrug of dextroamphetamine). Low abuse potential prodrug composed of l-lysine. if injected or snorted the fast effect(rush) is muted.
Atomoxetine (Strattera). Risk of suicidal ideation. MAOI use within the last 14 days, hepatotoxicity, headache, insomnia, somnolence, hypertension, tachycardia, dry mouth, nausea, abdominal pain, lower appetite. Do not open the capsule, irritant.

What are the warnings for the central alpha 2A agonists?
Guanfacine ER(Intuniv) start at 1 mg daily and increase by 1 mg weekly, Clonidine ER (Kapvay) Start at 0.1 mg QHS and increase by 0.1mg weekly.
Dose-dependent cardiovascular effects, do not discontinue abruptly as this can cause rebound hypertension, must be tapered.
