Angiotensin Receptor Blockers Flashcards

1
Q

M?

A

Block action of angiotensin II on the AR1 receptor.
This prevents vasoconstriction and aldosterone release, reducing afterload and so blood pressure.
It also causes efferent glomerular arteriole dilatation, delaying the effects of CKD
It also limits sodium and water reabsorption so decreasing preload in heart failure.
