Anatomy and Pathology of the Placenta 4 Flashcards

Distinguish between dichorionic and monochorionic placentation and compare and contrast formation and complications of these twinning patterns.

1
Q

Describe the characteristics of monochorionic placentation.

A
  • Nearly always monozygotic
  • 2 back-to-back amnions
  • If monoamnionic, then no dividing membrane
