Combustible Liquid.

A

A liquid having a closed cup flash point at or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees centigrade). Combustible liquids shall be
subdivided as follows:
1. Class II. Liquids having a closed cup flash point at or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees centigrade) and below 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees centigrade)

  1. Class IIIA. Liquids having a closed cup flash point at or above 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees centigrade) and below 200 degrees Fahrenheit (93 degrees centigrade).
  2. Class IIIB. Liquids having a closed cup flash point at or above 200 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees centigrade.

Flammable Liquid.

A

A liquid having a closed cup flash point below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees centigrade). Flammable liquids are further categorized into a group know as Class I liquids. The Class I category is subdivided as follows:

  1. Class IA. Liquids having a flash point below 73 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees centigrade) and having a boiling point below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees centigrade).
  2. Class IB. Liquids having a flash point below 73 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees centigrade) and having a boiling point at or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees centigrade).
  3. Class IC. Liquids having a flash point at or above 73 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees centigrade) and below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees centigrade).
