Who is responsible for maintaining the accountability system for personnel at an incident scene as directed by the Incident Commander.

Accountability board
Board used to display ID tags and track the following information:partner(s),assignment, radio designation, and location.

Helmet shield
3” x 5” heavy plastic shield with zone and company (e.g., 80-L-2). Color-coded as follows: officers - white firefighters - yellow, paramedics - orange, HazMat - green, Safety - blue.

ID tags
2” x 3” card with official department logo that displays personnel photo, name, rank/position, EVAP number and driver’s license number. The ID tag attaches to the firefighter’s turnout coat with a trigger snap.

Temporary ID tags
A 2 x 3 inch blank piece of acrylic with a trigger snap on which a name can be written in either pencil or black marker to identify a member of the team; used until a permanent ID tag can be issued.

a. The exception to this is when the first arriving Company Officer identifies a different location for entry into the hot zone and identifies which apparatus shall be the temporary collection point
for ID tags.
