Four stages of populations
1st is Low population, high birth and death rates
Transitions to stage four, with high population, low birth and death rates
Stage one has the fewest old people, stage four has more old people
Four stages of health transition
1) Mostly infectious diseases and malnourishment (EG: sub-saharan Africa)
2) Receding pandemics, some live long enough to see chronic disease (EG: some Latin America, South Asia)
3) Degenerative, man-made diseases, deaths from chronic diseases overtake those from infection (EG: central Asia, urban India)
4) Delayed degenerative diseases (high-income countries)

How equal incomes are in a country
