How is it managed?

A

AKA rickets
Due to vit D deficency

Low Ca+ and low phosphate, increased ALP (ALP is used in calcification of bones) and PTH (cause of 2ndary hyperparathyroidism)

Waddling gait, bending bones, easy fractures

Correct vit D deficiency

Men - late adulthood

Bony pain (spine and pelvis in particular), abnormally big head

Flame shaped lesion along the shaft of bone

Isolated raised ALP

Bisphosphnates (bone turnover supressor)
