How can you differentiate between bullous pemhigoid and pemphigus vulgaris with the eye?
What is the difference histologically?
PemhigoiD = Deep = separation between the dermis and the epidermis
Pemphigus = seperation within the epidermis
When conditions involve the epidermis the skin is often dry and flakey - blisters burst - pemphigus blisters are often very fragile and do not stay up at the surface unlike pemhigoid
