growth
quantitive change
- incr weight and size, daily gain - due to body dev
- (conception) -> intrauterine life -> (birth) -> pre + post weaning (main growth phase)
compensatory growth
if growth is less than normal for some months due to under-nutrition, then later when good nutrition is available the liveweight gain of the cattle will be greater than would otherwise be the case. It means that there is a ‘rebound’ effect.
development

(Racing type)
Raising -> utilisation -> breeding
(working type)
No breeding, raising and utilisation period same as above
(meaty type)
