In vivo
The term “in vivo” conservation describes conservation of live animals and encompasses in situ and existu in vivo conservation methods; refers to all human activities including strategies, plans, policies, and actions undertaken to ensure that the diversity of animal genetics resources being maintained contribute to food and agri production and productivity, or to maintain other values of these resources now and in the future
In situ refers to
the conservation of livestock through continued use by livestock keepers in the production system in which the livestock evolved or are now normally found and bred
Ex situ in vivo conservation
refers to consesrvation through maintenance of live animal populations not kept under normal management conditions e.g. zoo parks and /or outside of the area in which they evolved or are now normally found
Is there a boundary between insitu and exsitu in vivo conservation?
