Impairment of the dorsal, lateral corticospinal and spinocerebellar tracts

A
B12 deficiency

How does SCDOTSC present?
A
- Symmetrical Distal tingling/burning/sensory loss of the legs
- Impaired propioception and vibration sense
- Muscle weakness
- Hyperreflexia
- UMN signs in the legs first
- Positive Romberg’s sign

How is SCDOTSC managed?
A
- IM B2 injections followed by oral supplementation
- Some neuro symptoms can become irreversible
