What is restless legs syndrome?
A
A neurological disorder characterized by irresistible urge to move the limbs

What are risk factors for RLS?
A
- Family history
- Diabetes
- Pregnancy
- Iron deficiency
- CKD
- Some drugs such as antidepressants, antipsychotics

How does RLS present?
A
- Akathisia usually at night but can progress to day
- Paraesthesia

How is RLS managed?
A
- Address underlying causes
- Patient education with self-help advice
- Dopamine agonists e.g. ropinirole, rotigotine, pramipexole
- Benzodiazepines can be used
