A
  • Brainstem strokes/tumours
  • MND
  • Guillan-Barre
  • Some genetic conditions

How does bulbar palsy present?

A
  • Dependent upon the nerve which is damaged
  • Can cause difficulty chewing, slurred speech, nasal regurgitation
  • Impaired vocal ability, dysarthria
  • Tongue atrophy, weakness of jaw/facial muscles
