- Prodromal stage may include yawning, fatigue and mood changes
- Unilateral, throbbing headache

How are migraines managed acutely?
A
- NSAIDs
- Paracetamol
- Antiemetics
- Triptans (5-HT receptor antagonists which cause vasoconstriction and should be taken as soon as headache starts to halt the attack)

How are migraines prevented?
A
- Propranolol
- Amitriptyline
- Topiramate (teratogenic and needs very effective contraception)
- CBT, Acupuncture and Riboflavin can also be used
