How are migraines managed acutely?

A
  • NSAIDs
  • Paracetamol
  • Antiemetics
  • Triptans (5-HT receptor antagonists which cause vasoconstriction and should be taken as soon as headache starts to halt the attack)

  • Topiramate (teratogenic and needs very effective contraception)
