A

Fire- monthly or when 25% crew change with in 24hrs of departure
Abandon- monthly or 25% crew change within 24hr of departure
Rescue boat and recovery of person from the water - 1 to 3 month
Enclosed space- 2 month
Security- 3 month or as required by SSP
Pollution - 3 months or as required by SOPEP and SMS
Emergency steering - 3 Months
MOB - 3 months
Medical - annual

What is SOLAS

A

International convention for the safety f life at sea

It is an international maritime treaty that sets the safety standards for construction, equipment requirements and operation of merchant ships. There 162 contracting states to the treaty and it requires that each ensures that vessels flagged under them must comply to at least these standards. It is considered the most important treaty

A
  • Every crew to attend every month
  • Conducted as if actual scenario
  • In conjunction with abandon ship drill

Requirements for crew familiarisation of training manual

A

Crew must be familiarised with their duties and personal LSA equipment (life jacket and immersion suits) prior to be able to carry out duty.
Crew too read as soon as practicable and tested on knowledge within 2 weeks
