What is the MOA (pharmacodynamics) of prednisone?

A
  • Inhibits accumulation of inflammatory cells at inflammation sites, phagocytosis, lysosomal enzyme release/synthesis, release of mediators of inflammation.
  • Prevents/suppresses cell-mediated immune reactions.
  • Decrease/prevents tissue response to the inflammatory process.
  • Increase the amount of beta 2 receptors available
