-Treatment of susceptible infections due to gram-negative aerobic organisms, some gram positive organisms including
respiratory tract, GI/GU tract, skin and skin structure, bone and joint, intra-abdominal, PID, biliary tract/urinary
tract infections, bacterial septicemia, meningitis, atypical community acquired pneumonia
Dosage for Ceftriaxone
Dosage for Ceftriaxone
Adult: 2 g IV/IO; use dilution of 2g in 100 ML NS; reconstitution- add 2.5 ML sterile water for injection to each 250 mg to provide concentration of 100 mg/ML; infuse over 30 mins
Pediatric: 100 mg/kg to a max of 2 g IV/IO, infuse over 30 mins

- Hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone
- Do not administer with calcium containing IV solutions (ringers lactate)
