- Pain management for musculoskeletal injury, kidney stones, cholecystitis, etc.
- Vascular headache pain

What is the dosage for ketorolac?
A
- 10 mg SIVP or 30mg IM q 6 hrs
- Maximum daily dose not to exceed 40mg
- Can only give to pediatric if over 12 years old

List the contraindications for ketorolac
A
- Hypersensitivity (Inc other NSAIDS)
- Active peptic ulcer disease
- History of recent GI bleeding
- Advanced renal impairment
- Confirmed or suspected cerebral vascular bleeding
- Use prior to major surgery
- Use during labor and delivery; breast feeding
- Concurrent use with other NSAIDs
- Sub-arachnoid hemorrhage

What are some precautions in use of ketorolac?
A
Try to avoid using in patients with impaired renal or hepatic function. The drug isn’t recommended in children as the safety and efficacy has yet to be established.
