Question 1

On arrival, announce your presence on-scene and establish an Incident Command Post. Contact Company Officers to verify the location of fire, the location of units and the progress of their operation.
The Incident Commander shall establish sectors and/or groups early into the operation. Sector/group super visors shall be assigned as necessary as they arrive by the Incident Commander. Units shall be made aware of the different sectors/groups being established and the identification of their sector/group supervisor. Once a sector/group supervisor is assigned, units assigned to such sectors/groups shall report directly to their sector/group supervisor, and sector/group supervisors directly to the Incident Commander. Units not assigned to a sector/group supervisor will report directly to the Incident Commander.

If conditions warrant, the Incident Commander may assign an Operations Section Chief and/or establish Branches to maintain a manageable span of control. If an Operations Section is to the Incident Commander. If Branches are established, sector/group supervisors will report to the Branch Director they are assigned to, who will then report to the Operations Section Chief.

Question 2

BC at PD fire
If window bars are present, special call an additional engine and ladder company. The special called ladder company shall be a tower ladder, if one is not assigned on the first alarm assignment. Refer to Safety Bulletin 84 for guidelines on operations when window bars are encountered.
D. As units arrive, assign specific tasks, e.g. additional portable ladders, removal of window bars.
E. Assign the 2nd arriving Battalion Chief to provide supervision as needed.
