Neonates: group B streptococcus, E. coli, L. monocytogenes
Children/teens: N. meningitidis
Adults: streptococcus pneumoniae
Unvaccinated: Hemophilus influenza

nasopharynx -> blood -> brain

Differentiate the CSF labs of bacterial vs. viral vs. fungal meningitis?

B: low glucose with neutrophils
V: normal glucose with lymphocytes
