Rare malignant tumor arising in bone; most often occuring in children. - pain and swelling, usually ages 5-15, surgery radiotherapy chemo
Exostosis
Bony growth (benign) arising from the surface of bone
*Osteochondromas (cartilage and bone0 are exostoses(ex-out, ostosis - condition of bone)
Fracture
Traumatic breaking of bone
Simple /Closed Fracture
Bone broken no break in skin
Compound/open fracture
bone broke threw the skin protuding out
Osteogenic scaroma
malignant tumor arising from osteoblasts, found primarialy in children or adolesents * osteoblast multiply forming large bony tumors
Osteomalacia
Softening of bone with inadequate amounts of material(calcium) in the bone
Osteoporosis
Decrease in bone density (mass); thinning and weakening of bone
