The bone bends but doesn’t necessarily break

A
If there is a break in the cortex it is unicortical.

A
Oblique tibial fracture in infants

A
Both sides of the cortex are breached

A
Incomplete cortical disruption resulting in periosteal haematoma only

What is the mechanism of injury of a buckle fracture?
A
Axial loading causing one cortex to buckle without affecting the other cortex.
