How is Ewing’s sarcoma diagnosed?
Fine-needle aspiration of lesion
What would you find in fine needle aspiration of Ewing’s sarcoma?
Presence of EWS-FLI1 protein
What is Chondrosarcoma?
Malignant tumour of cartilage
What does chondrosarcoma affect?
AI affects the axial skeleton, not the diaphysis of long bones
Who is chondrosarcoma more common in?
Middle aged
What is Osteoma?
Benign ‘overgrowth’ of bone
Where does osteoma normally occur?
Most typically occurring within the skull.
What is osteoma classically associated with?
Gardner’s syndrome (a variant of familial adenomatous polyposis, FAP)
What is Osteochondroma?
Most common benign bone tumour.
