PA 7 Flashcards
What sets you apart?
I’ve dealt with personal adversity—my father’s bipolar disorder and my mother’s brain tumor—and I’ve navigated professional challenges in law enforcement. Those experiences have made me adaptable, empathetic, and determined to make a difference in healthcare.
What is appealing about the location of MCPHS
New Hampshire offers a sense of calm and community that fits my family’s lifestyle. It’s a place where I can focus on my studies while still being close to the people I love. The clinical opportunities here also align with my goal to serve diverse patient populations.
What qualities or skills do you have that would make you a valuable student and classmate?
I work well under pressure and I’m passionate about science. I also value collaboration over competition, so I’ll happily share notes, study tips, or a listening ear. Plus, my experience as an EMT has prepared me for patient interactions and quick thinking.
Why did you decide to choose a program that’s out of state? / Why did you apply to a program that’s close to/far away from your hometown?
Although I grew up in New York, New Hampshire feels like the right place for my family. My relatives live nearby, and we’ve fallen in love with the area’s natural beauty. I want to contribute to a smaller community and eventually practice medicine where I can make a tangible difference.
