PA 24 Flashcards
What is your biggest regret?
My biggest regret is not taking college more seriously when I first started. I tried balancing a full-time job with classes but didn’t have the discipline I have now. I ended up withdrawing from courses, which slowed my progress toward a degree. If I could change one thing, I’d focus on my studies from the start and use the resources available to me. Still, I’m thankful for the growth that came from those mistakes. Returning to school later in life taught me resilience, time management, and a deep appreciation for education. It also showed me that no matter how many setbacks you face, it’s never too late to pursue your goals.
- What one thing would you change about your undergraduate experience?
I wish I had taken my first shot at college more seriously. Working full-time while juggling classes left me stressed and unfocused. If I could go back, I’d ask for help sooner and organize my schedule better so I wouldn’t burn out.
- Why did you choose your undergraduate major?
I chose Biochemistry because I love understanding how the body works at a molecular level. It connects my fascination with science to real-world health issues, which felt like the perfect bridge to a career in patient care.
- Are you happy with your choice?
Yes, I’m very happy. Going back to school later in life made me appreciate Biochemistry even more. It was challenging, but I enjoyed digging into topics like genetics and pharmacology, which align closely with what I’ll do as a PA.
- What is one thing you would like to change about yourself?
I can be pretty hard on myself when I don’t meet my own expectations. I’m learning to cut myself some slack and recognize when I need help. Over time, I’ve realized that leaning on others and working as a team can make all the difference.
