Q
  1. Why did you choose that particular volunteer opportunity?
A

I chose the math tutoring opportunity because I love math and wanted to help others learn. The library was a welcoming place in my community, and I felt it was a great way to give back. I also volunteered for the Anthony Robbins Foundation because I admired their mission to empower people. I wanted to be a part of that energy and help organize events to support the attendees. Both experiences allowed me to make a positive difference in different ways.I love explaining concepts in a simple way, so tutoring math felt like a great fit. The Anthony Robbins Foundation appealed to me because I appreciate their message of personal growth and transformation. Both opportunities allowed me to connect with people on a deeper level.

I learned a lot from those experiences. While tutoring math, I discovered how important clear communication is. I learned to listen carefully to each student and find new ways to explain things. Working with the Anthony Robbins Foundation taught me how to plan events and work well in a team. Both activities showed me that even small efforts can make a big difference in someone’s life.

A

My volunteer experience taught me valuable lessons that will help me both as a classmate and as a PA. Tutoring math helped me learn how to explain things clearly and patiently. I learned the importance of listening carefully and adapting my approach to each individual. Working with the Anthony Robbins Foundation showed me how teamwork and organization can make a big difference. These experiences taught me to be reliable and compassionate. As a classmate, I will use these skills to collaborate well with others. As a PA, I will use them to communicate effectively with patients and work closely with my healthcare team.

Q
  1. What extracurricular activity will benefit you most as a PA?
A

My time as an EMT and as a sergeant for the NYPD has given me skills that will help me as a PA. As an EMT, I learned to handle medical emergencies, quickly assess patients, and make fast decisions under pressure. My role as a sergeant helped me develop strong leadership and communication skills while working effectively with a team. Both experiences taught me to stay calm during stressful situations and collaborate well with others. I believe these skills will make me a better Physician Assistant.
