PA 31 Flashcards
Tell me about a time you broke the rules.
Early in my career as a police officer, I broke protocol by not waiting for backup before entering a tense situation. I thought I could handle it quickly on my own, but it put both me and the suspect at greater risk. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but my supervisor reminded me that protocols exist to protect everyone involved. That experience taught me to respect established procedures and not let pride or impatience override safety. I’ve carried that lesson into every job since, and it shaped how I approach teamwork and follow guidelines.
What is the worst mistake you have ever made?
Another big mistake was not taking my first shot at college seriously. I tried to juggle a full-time job and classes without proper planning. I ended up withdrawing from multiple courses, which set me back academically. I realized later how important it is to manage time effectively and ask for help when needed. That failure pushed me to return to school with better focus and discipline, and it ultimately shaped me into a more determined student—and a better future healthcare provider.
How has your interview experience been today?
I was impressed by how friendly everyone is—students, professors, and even the admissions team.
Is there anything else I need to know about you?
One thing that might not show up on my application is how much I enjoy teaching and mentoring others. Whether I was training new officers in the NYPD or helping my son with his homework, I’ve always found fulfillment in guiding people to reach their full potential. I plan to bring that same supportive spirit to PA school, where I can share what I’ve learned and collaborate with classmates to help each other succeed.
I’ve been dreaming of becoming a PA for 1 years, and joining this program would finally make that dream come true. This school matches what I am looking for. I’m excited to learn from the faculty and peers, contribute and grow into the best provider I can be.
Tell me something that’s not on your application.
You won’t see my meditation background mentioned anywhere. It might sound simple, but it has deeply shaped my ability to handle pressure, remain patient, and connect with others on a genuine level.
When you leave today, what one thing will you wish you could have told us about yourself?
Just that I’m extremely excited about the idea of joining this program. After everything I’ve learned today, I feel even more certain this is where I belong. Thank you for your time and for considering me.
