Do you think it’s more important to get patients seen or spend time with patients?
I believe quality matters more than just moving through a list. Patients deserve enough time to share their concerns and feel heard. Still, it’s important to balance that with efficiency so no one is left waiting too long.
If a patient is late, should they still be seen?
Yes, but there might need to be some flexibility. If the schedule allows it, I’d do my best to work them in. If it’s a busy day, we might need to offer a shorter visit or reschedule, but I’d explain the situation with empathy.
How much time should be allotted to spend with each patient?
It varies based on the appointment’s purpose and complexity. Some issues need just a few minutes, while others need more in-depth discussion. The goal is to give patients the time they need without letting the entire schedule fall behind. By staying organized and knowing when to guide the conversation back to the main issue, we can be both caring and efficient.
Describe your work ethic.
I’m dedicated and disciplined. If I see a task that needs doing, I take action right away. I don’t shy away from hard work, and I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills.
What would your best friend say about you?
My best friend would say I’m reliable and persistent. If I set my mind to something—like going back to school or taking on a tough shift—I won’t quit until I see it through.
Tell me about a situation when you had to push yourself.
Returning to college in my 40s was a big challenge. I had a full schedule, family responsibilities, and still managed to earn solid grades. It took strict time management and self-discipline, but it proved I could handle demanding workloads and stick to a goal no matter how tough it got.
