How to prepare BA set for asbestos bagging?

A
  • Remove cylinder from BA set and fit RED plastic cap over male cylinder connection
  • Place asbestos-contaminated BA set with matching asset numbered mask (including battery and tally) in an asbestos bag.
  • Do not place more than one set in each asbestos bag.

- harness serial number (found on a card in a sleeve on the inside of the waistband)
- harness ID number (written on the inside of the waistband)
- Car number

TRANSPORTING

A
  • Do not transport asbestos-contaminated PPC in the cabin area of any vehicle under ANY circumstances.
  • Transport Double-bagged BA sets, PPC and canvas hose back to station using a District Car or General Purpose POD. (Stations without access to these may use the PPC locker on a Heavy Pumper)
  • Place double-bagged items in an appropriate storage area at station and arrange for collection
