When AND How to Issue

A

Issue an Emergency Evacuation Signal as soon as it is recognised that an immediate danger exists to any fireground personnel. This warning may be given using any of the following:
- Appliance/vehicle horn
- Air horn
- Evacuation Signal Unit (ESU)
- Whistle
- Loud Hailer
- Public address system of appliance/vehicle siren

What is the signal?

A
  • Three short blasts, each for one second duration
  • Wait ten seconds and repeat
  • Repeat this sequence until all persons are accounted for
