- Incident type and status
- Incident potential - risks to life and property
- Loss and damage
- Incident objective(s)
- Likely resource requirements and commitment
- Community warnings issued

Strategic and Tactical

When to send a strategic level sitrep?
Consider sending a Strategic Level SitRep in the following circumstances:
- An emergency or priority situation
- Upon request from the CommCen
- Changes to the IAP
- Significant community evacuations or impacts
- In support of an incident escalation or Red Flag Warning
- Any other reason deemed necessary

What is a strategic level sitrep used for?
- Strategic Level SitReps are to contain information relevant to the incident strategies and objectives
- Incident Controllers are to provide Strategic Level SitReps to the CommCen at the earliest possible time for escalating incidents, and the periodically throughout the incident
- Ops Officers, Sector Commanders and Strike Team Leaders are to use Strategic Level SitReps to communicate information to the next level up the chain of command. ie. Sector Commander to Ops Officer or Ops Officer to IC

What is a Tactical Level SitRep to contain, and when is it used?
- Tactical Level SitReps are to only contain information relevant to an assigned task and must be kept brief
- Single resources are to use Tactical Level SitReps to communicate key information up the chain of command to personnel performing functional roles ie. FF to Appliance OIC or Appliance OIC to Sector Commander

What is the format of a Tactical Level SitRep?
Use the CAN format for all Tactical Level SitReps
- CONDITIONS: What are the current conditions of the incident/task
- ACTIONS: What actions are being implemented
- NEEDS: What additional resources are required?
