Lymph vessels
Vessels that carry a clear-looking fluid called lymph.
Lymph

Swelling in tissues due to excessive fluid.
Elephantitis
A disease caused by parasites which block lymph vessels.
Lacteals
Lymph vessels found in the small intestines that absorb fat molecules.
Chyle
Lymph fluid that has absorbed fat molecules.
Villi
Projections of tissue in the small intestines.
Villus
The singular form of the word villi.
Lymph nodes
Capsules containing lymphocytes along the path of lymph vessels.
Lymphocytes
A type of white blood cell that is found stored in lymph nodules.
Lymph nodules
Spherical structures filled with lymphatic tissue.
Lymphatic tissue
Lymphocytes and surrounding supportive tissue.
Pharyngeal tonsils
Lymph nodules located at the back of the nasal cavities.
Palatine tonsils
Lymph nodules located at the back of the throat.
Lingual tonsils
Lymph nodules located at the back of the tongue.
Peyer’s patches
Lymph nodules located in the small intestine.
Right lymphatic duct
A major lymph vessel in the right upper portion of your chest area.
Thoracic duct
A major lymph vessel that runs up the middle of your chest area.
Right subclavian vein
The blood vessel that receives lymph from the right lymphatic duct.
Left subclavian vein
The blood vessel that receives lymph from the thoracic duct.
B-cells
Lymphocytes that are formed and mature in the red bone marrow.
Immature T-cells
Lymphocytes that are formed in the red bone marrow but mature in the thymus.
