Flecainide Flashcards
1
Q
Drug Class
A
anti arrhythmic class 1C
2
Q
Common Indications
A
supraventricular & ventricular arrhythmia
3
Q
Mechanism of Action
A
marked sodium channel blockade so slows impulse conduction (phase 0) & decreases automaticity
4
Q
Adverse Effects
A
CNS- drowsiness, dizziness, nausea & vomiting
increase ventricular response to SVT - flutter
5
Q
Contraindications
A
other anti arrhythmic agents that compound negative inotropy
should be given with AV node blocker (beta) to prevent 1:1 AV conduction in AF/flutter
6
Q
Drug Interactions
A
drugs that also prolong QT interval
