Q

filtration process

A
  1. filtration- filtrate collects in tissue (water, salts, sugar, AA, n-waste)

cell and large molecules do not get in

  1. reabsorption- recovers useful molecules and water back into body fluid
  2. secretion- active transport of non-essential solutes and waste out of body fluid (movement of solute control where water goes )
  3. excretion- waste removed

Q

excretion in animals: protonephridia

A

in flatworms, molluscs, lancelets, etc.
tubules are connected to extent openings

flame bulbs cap each branch (dead ends)

cilia draws water and solutes from body fluid into flame bulb

Q

excretion in animals: metanephridia

A

annelids- earthworms
each segment has system in earthworm

collects fluid from the column, enveloped by a capillary network, a cilia funnel surrounds opening of collection tube, bladder collects filtrate and release urine out
