Early Childhood
Age-appropriate toys
Toys that are safe and promote the cognitive and motor development of a specific age group
Cooperative play
A group of two or more children who cooperate by playing together
Corporal punishment
Spanking; focuses on the pain of the punishment and can role model aggression, in which case it will not accomplish the true goal of discipline

Early childhood

The body’s resistance to disease-causing organisms
Parallel play
When a young child plays next to a friend but does not interact with the friend during play

The ability to pick up small objects with the thumb and forefinger

A form of discipline implemented as a response to unacceptable behavior

Period between the ages of 1 and 2 years
