  • generally not a problem except for infants of mothers who took BDZs chronically while prego …behavioural teratogenic effects (rats), absence of locomotion responses and the acoustic startle responses
  • withdrawal symptoms in infants…tremors, irritability, and hyperactivity
  • depressing respiration, reluctance to feed and decreasing the ability to maintain norm body temp.
  • up to 8 days after delivery (drugs presence)
